Xbox presence and your status line

Presence is the line under your gamertag that tells people what you are doing: the game you are in, what you are doing in it, or when you were last online. It is visible on your profile card, in friends lists, and in parties.
What presence shows
When you are online, presence shows the app or game you have open and, for games that support rich presence, details such as the mode or map. When you are offline, it shows when you were last seen and what you were last playing.
Privacy settings
You can control who sees your online status and activity from the Xbox privacy settings, and you can choose to appear offline. These settings hide presence; they do not let you write your own.
Custom presence
A custom presence sets the text shown on your profile to something you choose, for example a game you want to show you are playing. X6RR's Xbox Presence service sets it for you and typically completes within 1 to 6 hours.
